"Higher Ground" is from Brewton, Alabama.  They sing Southern Gospel and have been together for over three years.  Gwen O'Bannon, who sings lead and alto, has been singing since she was old enough to talk and walk.  She previously sang with the group "Midnight Cry" for almost 15 years prior to starting "Higher Ground" with Gary Turner.  Gary, who sings lead and tenor, also sang with "Midnight Cry" for almost 10 years.  They are joined by Buddy O'Bannon, who does the sound and whatever else needs to be done.

Along with Gary's wife, Jann, "Higher Ground" looks forward to ministering through song at your Church or function. The group released their first project as "Higher Ground" in 2001 and is presently working on a new project with expectations of finishing it in early 2004.

This is a group who loves the "Lord" and believes that in these last days, many who will not come to the preaching of the "Word" will come to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the ministry of singers who strive to reach the lost.
